This solo episode is a follow on to last week’s talking about a specific way you bear the imago dei through creativity. I know not everyone sees themselves as creative yet the truth is we all wear the fingerprint of God as a creative person; the question is do we see it?
I’ve had to find my way back to seeing myself as creative; lots of my years were spent with work so I didn’t prioritize creative pursuits. Plus I didn’t consider myself creative since my personal definition was narrow and not expansive.
Some tools that helped me explore and expand are listed below. I don’t see these as prescriptive but as suggestions for places to start on your journey of seeing the creative fingerprint you wear.
The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron
(by the way, I do not get any funds or benefit in any way with the links I share)
I also mentioned Walking on Water by Madeleine L’Engle the author of A Wrinkle in Time and many other great works. I would love to gather a small group of journeyers to read and discuss this book together. If you’re interested, please connect with me!
I mentioned a song that has really helped me see creativity in myself and others in a more expansive way. I hope you are encouraged by the lyrics as well. The title let’s you know what lies ahead To All Purple Tree Trunks
