I’m here with a book recommendation; one that is beautiful, inspiring and a source of help to us as we practice letting go of the drainers of life and lean in toward the things that are life giving.

Meera Lee Patel has written several books; I became acquainted with her work with her book Start Where You Are. It is a journal of self-exploration. Her latest book, How It Feels to Find Yourself is also a beautiful invitation to self-discovery and re-discovery at every transition you come to.

It is a collection of Meera’s essays around Finding Self, Finding Family, Finding Friends and more. Meera is an artist who thinks in color so she explores and identifies her findings through color palettes she created with watercolors. She provides open frameworks for us to play with identifying our emotions through our own color palettes.

This book has invited me to slow down, pay attention and write. I am going to take the next seven weeks off from creating content for the podcast; I’ll return August 1 in time to celebrate the 3rd birthday of Let Go, Lean In Podcast, born August 14, 2020.

I encourage you to make time to pay attention to life’s drains and life’s draws. Practice letting go of the drainers and leaning in toward the life giving things in order to live life wholeheartedly as God intends you to do.
