In my conversation with Dr. Jill Richardson (ep. 134) she chose Honesty & Transparency from the list of Leadership Values she was sent. We discussed these values as well as the Enneagram and her upcoming course called The Enneagram for Writers. Click over to the podcast landing page where the show notes are published; Dr. Jill has an offer for you as a listener of Let Go, Lean In podcast.

In this solo episode I thought I would model these values through a personal story or two. Honesty & Transparency are risky values since some people don’t always like what they hear from a leader. People might stop following your leadership.

Annie Dillard, author of many books, The Writing Life being one, said the following words

Your work, by merely being yours, will ripple out to touch and benefit others.

For fun, read this quote again but sub in the word leadership for work.

Your leadership will have influence on the lives of others. You may never know how far reaching your influence goes; honesty & transparency may in fact be risky but in addition it builds trust among your people and for you as a leader.

I had fun with this; hope you enjoy it.

Next week we’ll meet and hear from Judy M. Baker, Book Marketing Mentor in Episode 136.
